Nation's capital inspires design for the newest Andaz Ottawa hotel
Andaz by Hyatt Hotels selected the vibrant ByWard Market neighbourhood in Ottawa as their first location in Canada. The owner of this 200-guestroom boutique hotel had a cohesive vision: to provide a refined and casual atmosphere while connecting guests to the community and expose travelers to the best of Canadian design and culture.

The lounge features a ceiling light-installation by an Ontario designer using six wood species from the region, while check-in podiums hold stone carvings from the Canada Council Art Bank. Rooms and suites boast upholstered furniture from Ontario-based designers and are finished in a mixture of natural oak wood, with copper accents, a nod to the copper-topped parliament buildings in view.
